Athlete Profile
Chris Bagg

2011 highlights:
Ironman 70.3 Boise - 11th
Rev3 Portland - 12th
Ironman Canada - 4th

Nationality: U.S.A.

Hometown: Westborough, MA

First Triathlon: PolarBear Tri/Du, Brunswick, ME

Favorite distance: Ironman

Career highlight: 8th Place Overall, IM Canada 2010

Race wheels: Rolf Prima Disc Rear, TdF85 Front

Nickname: Baggage

Favorite race: IM Canada, Pacific Crest Long Course

Favorite place to train: Skyline Boulevard, Portland OR, and attached climbs/descents

What I dread about race day: First 200 m of swim

What I always wanted to be when I grew up: a professional soccer player and actor, sorta like Andrew Shue of the Los Angeles Galaxy (and, oh yeah, Melrose Place)

If I was a cartoon character I would be: Homestar Runner

If I could have lunch with anyone it would be: Jens Voigt

My hero is: My Dad

Favorite food: Tacos, as long as we’re eating on a beach post-surfing

Strangest thing I've ever eaten: Ooh, tough one.  Probably those “mayonnaise”-slicked cubes of “tofu” I ate at a Korean restaurant once. I really have no idea what they were, but they were bizarre.

If I won the lottery: I’d work really hard not to be one of those people who win the lottery and then have to declare bankruptcy.

Funniest incident in my life: I tried to jump a Volvo on a mountain bike once. That was pretty funny…

Five things I would need to survive, if left alone on a deserted island: fresh water, food, something sharp, something hot, and David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest.

Favorite Movie: A Touch of Evil

My next vacation will be: Crested Butte, Colorado, with my beautiful fiancée!

Additional thoughts or notes: Thanks very, very much for sponsoring me
