Athlete Profile
Erich Wegscheider

2011 highlights:
Lavaman Waikoloa - 1st
Challenge Henley-on-Thames - 9th

Nationality: U.S.A.

Hometown: San Jose, CA

First Triathlon: 2007 OSU Beaver Freezer (Sprint)

Favorite distance: They all have their appeal, but I particularly enjoy Olympics.

Career highlight: Just starting my Elite career, so I'll have to get back to you.

Race wheels: TdF 58 SL's and rear Disc

Favorite race: Tri California's San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz

Favorite place to train: Eugene, OR

What I dread about race day: Porta potty lines

What I always wanted to be when I grew up: An Architect. Not sure how I got off that path...

If I could have lunch with anyone it would be: Sir Richard Branson

Favorite food: Semmelknodel (German bread dumplings)

Strangest thing I've ever eaten: Pig's brain. Oh, the things you'll find from street vendors in Vietnam.

If I won the lottery: My student loans would be a thing of the past.

Five things I would need to survive, if left alone on a deserted island: Fresh water, a big knife, Rolf Prima Carbon Disc (could be a rudder, umbrella, food platter, etc), a volleyball (it worked for Tom Hanks), and a really thick book.

My next vacation will be: Antarctica. Just gotta save up and find the time.

Additional thoughts or notes: I'm very excited to be a part of the Rolf Prima family! I can't wait to get out there and race and show who makes the best wheel systems.
