The Elan Wheel System Gets Aero in 2004 – Elan Aero

Eugene, OR - Rolf Prima charted new territory in the lightweight wheel category with the introduction of its 1270 gram per set, Elan wheel system. Although the Elan wasn't available until late summer 2003, sales have remained strong and spurred Rolf Prima’s design team to offer a few more options on its current design for customers with more specific needs.

The new Elan-AERO wheel system enjoys all the benefits of the super light Elan wheel, but offers Sapim’s popular CX-Ray spokes. The black anodized, aero-profile spokes are for the rider who demands every last measure of performance in their wheels. A 650c version of the Elan Aero will also be unveiled at the 2004 Interbike show to satisfy a strong demand for Rolf Prima wheels in the small custom frame and high-end triathlon markets.

Rolf Dietrich is the inventor of the paired-spoke bicycle wheel design. Rolf Prima wheel systems are protected by numerous patents in the US and other countries with several non-exclusive license agreements in force. Every Rolf Prima wheel system is hand-built in Eugene, Oregon.
