Roman Van Uden takes the win at Tour of the Gila, Downtown Silver City Criterium
With a star-studded field at the Tour of the Gila, Van Uden, riding for the Landrover-Orbea team, surprised everyone this past Saturday when he took the win in the Downtown Criterium. Avoiding several high-speed crashes near the end, Van Uden held off Sebastian Haedo from Colavita-Sutter Home and Alex Howes from Garmin-Holowesko Partners-Felt, and punched it hard with fans on their toes as he crossed the finish line. Riding his Vigor wheel set Van Uden said “This was a really awesome win; I took it wide out of the last corner in first position, put my head down and took it home.”
