Jarrod Shoemaker takes 8th in Ishigaki Triathlon World Cup
Last week, Jarrod Shoemaker traveled to Ishigaki , Japan for the 2009 Triathlon Ishigaki World Cup. With a slightly smaller field than previous years, the race started off with just 40 men on the starting line. The pack included some very strong swimmers and they created a break of 6 men off the front. Shoemaker entered the 40km bike leg riding his Rolf Prima TdF38 clincher set, with almost a three and half minute gap behind the 6 man break away. Between a fast bike leg and completing the run with the second fastest time of the day at 31:04, Shoemaker was able to make up some needed time and finish in the top ten. “Overall it was a great race as I felt strong in all three sports. It is a great way for me to start off the season and I am excited to race next weekend in Tongyeong as it is our 1st World Championship Series Race ever. I was on the carbon TdF38 clinchers for the race. They are amazing” said Jarrod Shoemaker.
