Jarrod Shoemaker finishes 10th in the world

This past Sunday marked the grand finale for the Dextro Energy Triathelon ITU World Championship series. Held on the Gold Coast of Australia there were over 120 athletes competing for the final points in the series. Competing against the best of the best in the world, Shoemaker threw everything he had into this final race of the series.

The day started with a strong swim that placed Shoemaker in the top ten out of the water. Holding his position into the bike leg on his Rolf Prima TdF38 clinchers, Shoemaker finished with the lead group of eight athletes going into the second transition. Losing only a few seconds in the run, Shoemaker placed 14th overall with enough points for 10th place in the world in the 2009 Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship series. Shoemaker was the only American to finish in the top ten - giving him true bragging rights.

Watch for Shoemaker at the US Open Triathlon, held in Dallas, Texas on October 11th.
