Jesse Thomas takes 6th at Ironman 70.3 Panama
The inaugural Ironman 70.3 Panama attracted a deep pro field this past Saturday including Lance Armstrong and his return as a Pro triathlete. Among the mix of strong competitors was Rolf Prima’s Pro triathlete, Jesse Thomas who was looking to start racking up points for 70.3 Worlds, being held later this year in Las Vegas, NV.
Former Olympian, Matty Reed led the men out of the water, with Jesse Thomas not far behind in a small chase group. Once on the bike, the men’s field showed it would be a fast day with the leaders pushing the pace throughout the 56mile course. Thomas exited T2 in 9th with a quick transition and set off to make up time in the run. Pushing on, he finished the half marathon with a time of 1:15:01 and locked up sixth overall for the day. Thomas raced his Rolf Prima TdF60 wheel set.
Look for Jesse Thomas in another strong field at the Rev3 Costa Rica on March 17th.
