Tyler Butterfield wins PATCO Pan American Triathlon Championships

How better to start the year than with a win? Rolf Prima athlete, Tyler Butterfield claimed his first ITU victory this past weekend at the PATCO Pan American Triathlon Championships in La Paz, Argentina.

Butterfield lined up with over 40 Pro men, representing 13 countries as they all set out to claim the first title for 2012. A fast swim of 19:43 put Butterfield about 30-seconds behind the main group going into T1. Out on the bike and on his Rolf Prima TdF85’s, Butterfield powered through to the front, where he gained an advantaging lead of 1:08 going into T2.

Holding a fast pace in the run, Butterfield held off Canada’s Brent McMahon to take the win and his first ITU victory title, clocking a finishing time of 1:53:36.
