Aerodynamics defined:
Aerodynamics is the study of how air masses move over objects in a flow. Since all cyclists must overcome air resistance created by forward motion and the prevailing winds, how FAST you ride is dependent on how efficient you are in lowering air resistance.
It is generally agreed upon that other than the position of the rider on the bike, bicycle wheels play the most significant role in determining aerodynamic performance - and how FAST you can ride.
SPEED has nothing to do with large diameter spokes, milling rims or the use of non-standard materials. SPEED has everything to do with how well you execute the use of efficient shapes like spokes, nipples and rim designs.
At 25 mph, 80% of an average rider's power output is used just to overcome the effects of wind drag. A reduction in this percentage results in either an increase in speed or a decrease in effort. How FAST you can ride is determined by how much power you can produce (measured in watts) and the amount of wind resistance (measured in grams) you have to overcome.

Thanks to our Paired Spoke Technology, only Rolf Prima can hand build wheels with lighter rims and fewer spokes which yield considerably less wind drag without compromising wheel stiffness, durability or stability.
